How Our Content Is Created
AR15 Outfitters publishes build guides, part reviews, glossary entries, and educational articles to help builders make informed decisions. Our content follows a structured workflow designed for accuracy and transparency.
AI-Assisted Content
We use AI tools (Claude by Anthropic) to generate initial drafts of articles, guides, and glossary entries. Every piece of AI-generated content goes through human review before publishing. This review process includes:
- Fact-checking technical claims against manufacturer specs and industry standards
- Verifying compatibility statements against our rules engine data
- Reviewing tone and accuracy for the AR-15 building audience
- Ensuring all product references link to real, available parts in our database
AI assists with drafting and structuring content. Final editorial decisions, accuracy verification, and publishing approval are always human responsibilities.
Affiliate Relationship Transparency
AR15 Outfitters earns revenue through affiliate commissions. When you click a product link and make a purchase at a partner retailer, we may earn a commission. This is how we fund the site and keep it free to use.
Our affiliate relationships do not influence which parts appear in the builder, how compatibility rules are evaluated, or which products we recommend. Every page with affiliate links includes an FTC disclosure.
How Recommendations Are Selected
Product suggestions in the builder are data-driven, not paid placements. Our suggestion engine considers:
- Compatibility with your selected parts (platform, caliber, gas system)
- Community engagement (click count as a proxy for popularity)
- Price (sorted by lowest available)
- Availability across retailers
Retailers cannot pay for preferred placement in the builder or in our suggestion results. The compatibility engine treats all retailers equally.
Update Frequency
We review and update content on a rolling basis. Build guides are updated when new parts enter the market or when compatibility data changes. Glossary entries are updated as terminology evolves. State legal guides are reviewed periodically and include a "last verified" date on each page.
Correction Policy
If we publish inaccurate information, we correct it promptly. Corrections are made in-place with no attempt to hide the original error. If a correction is significant (e.g., a compatibility rule was wrong, a legal status was outdated), we note the correction at the top of the affected page.
